Reading this book has made weight loss relatively easy for me where I was finding it impossible despite constant before. Do yourself a huge favour and BUY IT.

A refreshing antidote to junk public health diet advice. The current epidemic of obesity and diet-related disease is a legacy of catastrophic public health advice based on flimsy science. Dr Jenkinson takes-down this failed paradigm and replaces it with sensible, workable advice that reflects the sanity of new-wave nutrition thinking. Articulate, clear, a joy to read, this is a book that really needed written.

I first went on a diet in the late 1970s when I was told that for my height I should be 8st 12lb. I was then 9st 3lb. If only I had said no I could have saved myself from a lifetime of yoyo dieting. In my sixties I found myself at 20st. Then Covid 19 hit us all and I put on nearly a stone in the first lock down. I began to panic. I knew that long term dieting didn't help but felt that I had no option. I saw the health secretary on TV and he said that if everyone who was overweight lost 5lb it could save the nhs. I can do that I thought so I opted for a low gi diet that I had found helpful before but this time I set out to find out as much as I could about up to date research into our eating. This is when I found "Why we eat too much". It was a revelation, I have now read it 3 times and find new information each time. I have recommended it to everyone I meet. Everything in it makes sense to me. I am after all an expert dieter having lost a tremendous amount of weight over the last 40 years. My problem like so many others has been putting it on again and more. However now nearly 18 months into my new venture, with the help of this book, I have lost 8st 3lb. OK I'm still well over 12st but I am happier, healthier and more mobile than I have been for a very long time. I'm not on a diet, I've just changed the way I eat. I am not hungry, as I have plenty to eat. Now as I approach my 65th birthday I am fitter than I remember for a very long time. Thank you Dr Jenkinson, you have changed my life.
